Can you remember a time in your life in which you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior?
The message of the gospel is very simple. It states that all people are sinners and are in need of forgiveness of that sin. Sin separates us from God, and there is only one way to be reconciled back to God. Because God loves you so much, He sent His only Son down to earth in the form of a man to be a sacrifice to wash your sins away. Jesus Christ laid down His life on a cross so that you might be saved. He offers you salvation from sin and eternal life in heaven as a free gift if you will only place your trust in Him as your Savior.
Here are some verses from the Bible to help you understand this message of salvation:
It is a fact that all men are sinners:
Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God
I John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
It is a fact that sin leads to death and destruction:
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
It is a fact that we cannot obtain salvation by ourselves. Only through Christ can we be saved.
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
It is a fact that God loves you and wants to save you.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
It is a fact that salvation is open to everyone.
Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Hebrews 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
I Corinthians 15:14-15 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
It is a fact that you must trust in the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved.
Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Would you like to trust Jesus Christ as your Savior? Then pray to the Lord in your heart and tell Him that you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Ask him to forgive you of your sin and come into your heart. He will save you if you only believe.
